T-man and el stino

It’s always hard to find a good opening line, when you’re looking to write a report of a certain event. Let’s try it anyway and simply say: “Hi, I’m el stino”.

It kind of happened like that on Sunday August 3rd when a bunch of SoccerProject managers came to Brussels for the 4th SoccerProject Meeting. Not only did it happen at the Meeting, but also on November 8th of last year, if I recall correctly. Managers Cantagallina, T-Man, Celtic and el stino came together that Thursday night, for the first time, in the pool café where the meeting came to its end. Some time ago, manager Celtic had to pull out of the organizing team because of his busy schedule.

We had to move on, however. The pitch was quickly found, an ideal location to host our game. We therefore want to thank the people of football club Nossegem for being allowed to use their grounds.

The weather really didn’t favour us too much, but we didn’t let it bother us. We had a roof over our heads and BBQ-ing provided the summer spirit anyways.

El stino took care of the meat, Canta was the veggies-man and T-man went about tagging everyone with their manager and team names.

The soccer game proved to be a success and playing snooker and pool afterwards was tons of fun as well.

For me, Canta and T-Man it was the first time we came to a SoccerProject meeting and it definitely makes us want to do this again.

Despite the fact that most of us only see each other only once a year, it felt like we all knew each other for years. A really great group, true friends, we finally saw all those managers in the flesh: from our little Isis to tall Hoevi, everyone with their own personality and the perfect combination to keep on playing this game for many seasons to come.

If I want to write down everything I did that day, this report will soon grow into a full size novel. Let’s just finish with a friendly note by saying thank you to all who came down, and….

Hope to see you all at the next meeting!!

El stino

The mission this week: Describe you club history in maximum 200 words.

FC Sandscorpia (Fikkiezero)

Football Club Sandscorpia was founded at the start of the 9th season. A 6th place in the first season in the G-division was the start of a nice piece of club history. Yet, in season 10, Sandscorpia let promotion slip out of hands. In season 11 the board decided to defend the colours of the club (green-blue) in the F-division. On May 29th 2006 the stadium name was changed from sandscorps into SandArena, and the capacity was dubbled from 5.000 to 10.000 to celebrate the promotion. After three seasons of ending 3rd in the F-divion (one time planned, two times due to ‘not good enough’)., the club realised his first and untill now only divisiontrophy: the F-division was overcome. Our first season in E, we were able to just save ourselves (9th), the second season we weren’t: an 11th place and for the first time we relegated. But we wanted to fight back, and through season 18 the highest number of transfer ever made was set. In the middle of season 19 Sandscorpia is placed 4th in F, hoping for promotion. The Cup has never been seen as a goal, although in season 13 we reached the 5th round.

F.C. Dnjepr Dnjepropetrovsk (SC HEERENVEEN)

January 19th, a big day in the history of SoccerProject, SC Heerenveen becomes the manager of F.C. Dnjepr Dnjepropetrovsk. When a completely new group of staffmembers arrives the next day, it becomes clear that there are big plans the future. Unfortunately, a big mistake has been made at the same time: a talented player is sold for only 550.000. Yet, two days later, the best transfer ever was made: a very good goalkeeper was bought for little money.

In few weeks a team was settled that achieved the 3rd place, and the following season they grab the title. Along with the H-divisiontitle there are some improvements at the stadium: the youth centre expanded and would reach the Ultramodern level in a couple of seasons. Besides, 2.000 more places are built and 2 seasons later, another 2.000 seats.

Dnjepr also did well in the league, as reaching a 6th place didn’t mean any relegation worries. Meanwhile, the first squad of Dnjepr was rebuilt with players with a lower aggression than 50%, which costed a lot of teamspirit. However, some of us thought about the possibility of a promotion, but at the end, everyone was happy with the 3rd spot. Untill now, the low teamspirit is the main reason for our moderate 5th place in the G-division.

S.V. Zulte-Waregem (Rutger Lazou)

I will have to be economic, 200 words are typed fast! =>NOW<= I’ve got 188 of them left to subscribe my team history. Knowing myself I could type thousands again, I’ll have to deduct. So done waisting words now.

During season 6 S.V. Zulte-Waregem was founded; IRL ‘Zulte-Waregem’ was written as one word, meanwhile the hyphen is gone and it’s in two words.

Shortly after the discovery of this game, we promoted to the F-division. Out there, we experienced 3 moderate seasons in the middle of the ranking. In season 13 we became champion in F, and now we try to do so in the E-division, where we’re ranked 2nd right now: our best position ever with a line rating-record of 133. Poor was the mistake at game 2 by accidently putting my C-team on the field.

The best transfer ever made is certainly Theunis (RM/BP70/3M). Next to him the newly ransferred LM Suray (BP72) is performing best. Our best youth is CB Boi (BP 67), who is a standard in the Youth Cup, the cup for players younger than 23 years (participate => forum!). Yet some words… I will have to stop: 200!

Manager Installatietechnicus / Team Installatietechnicus (D5)

On September 25th 2005 (season 8 ) it all began, on this date I started my SoccerProject career in G 104. Now, almost 2 years later, I can hardly imagine a world without SoccerProject. My current division is D5 and I have become 3rd last year, so I would like to go up again this season. When I wake up in the morning, I try to check my team as soon as possible. That doesn’t always work out, because I have two small children that sometimes wake up very early as well. I have been active on the forum now and then, unfortunately because of my busy job and my family I haven’t got much time for the forum. But I online several times a day to manage my team. In the 11 seasons I have been playing SoccerProject, I have played in C2 twice and unfortunately had to make my way back to D immediately. This season I have subscribed for the UEFA cup and I’m going to try to get as far as I can. If fate is with me, I can make things hard for a lot of teams, so I give myself a small chance to win.

Manager: Rutger Lazou / Team: S.V. Zulte-Waregem

On May 24th 2004 manager Rutger Lazou came into the world of SoccerProject by launching the team of S.V. Zulte-Waregem. This means he made his first steps in the G division in season 6. After reshuffling his players’ group, he became champion in season 7. During the next seasons he only stuck to the basic management tasks and it was only in season 12 that the club came to the E division. In season 16 S.V. Zulte-Waregem fought a magnificent Cup campaign, until the 8th round. The next season it was able to command a 4th position in the league and now the ambition is to play in D during the 20th season.

In the trophy cabinet, you can find the cups of F218 and G652 and next to that 11 friendly cups. Behind every cup, there is a story, like TeBe Berlin Turnier I, II and III that made my friendship with Sandscorpia flourish.

Meanwhile there are still a few ‘originals’ in our players’ group, for example the 32 year old GK Alex Kimoto of 88%. In between his 33 team mates you could find 11 nationalities of all continents (except Africa and Antarctica of course). The oldest player is our ‘Polleken ‘Indiana’ Platvoet en is a monument over here.

There is sure something good in store for manager Rutger Lazou and his team. He also likes to wish a lot of good things to all the forummers and especially the newsletter readers.

About myself: I’ve been alive for 14 years now and I’m a supporter of Zulte Waregem, but my biggest passion is table tennis. I’m an E4 there and I play at TTC Wielsbeke!

Manager: Visje69 / Team: lesbuffalos

Hi there dear readers
My manager name is Visje69 with team lesbuffalos, but my real name is, as many Belgian managers may already know, Ian Smaele. For 20 years already, I’m crowding this globe and I live in Belgium. I’m playing SoccerProject since the 28th of August 2004, so shortly my SP-existence will celebrate it’s 3rd anniversary. It shouldn’t surprise you that I’m extremely proud of it. Not because I have such a great team, because I haven’t, but because I’m proud to be one of the first to be playing this game and for that I’m still playing it. In life next to SP I work. Studying is far past, but for people that still do, good Luck… My goal in SoccerProject? Getting as far as possible, though my primary goal is to keep the fun in the game and have as much fun as possible.

Manager: Robstje / Team: FC UnitetRobstje

I am Robstje, manager of FC Unitet. FC Unitet plays in division F.195 right now. I started playing SoccerProject in season 14, thanks to my brother, in division H.1750. I played three seasons there, finishing 5th, 3rd and 1st. In my first season In division G is immediately promoted to F. It’s my second season there. I also spend a lot of time on the forum, you can see me most of all in the ‘Koetjes en kalfjes’-section. What I like most is the ‘Prono-page’. In real life I’m Robbe, 12 years old and hereby one of the younger forum members. I play football at KVE Aalter, where I’m a central back. I have one brother on SoccerProject, who’s name is crambi, but he seldom visits the forum. In first division I’m a fan of Club Bruges, in the international leagues Arsenal and Barcelona are my favourite teams. I hope I can play SoccerProject for a long, long time, because it’s a magnificent game with magnificent players, forummers!

Manager: godfighter (aka Illusion) / Team: Destroyers

Hi there fellow managers,
I’ve been playing SoccerProject since the 7th season. But I have changed my challenges a couple of times. Right now I have a new challenge: to get into the E-division as fast as possible. When I got to know SoccerProject, I quit playing Hattrick! When I started it was still a lot easier, as the lowest division was F, and the players weren’t that expensive. In season 7 I played in division E.15, where I stayed some seasons. Due to lack of time, I quit, and had some new teams afterwards. But in season 15, I started my team now, called ‘Destoyers’. I succeeded to go up twice, and now I’m playing in F.158. I really got the taste when I handled my first transfer; player Vlastimil Hrnčář for only 100k! Greetings from manager godfighter (on the forum I’m Illusion)!
