SoccerProject translation: 爷就是个神话 ( pronounce as [u][di][tfen][hua:])has taken over the translating job from the original translator tnds who finished the translation on March, 3rd 2008. The Chinese SoccerProject was translated in is Beijing dialect.

Soccerproject survival tip: 我在哪我可以找到年轻的协调员 [wc:][zai][na:][ke][i:][zau][dau][niai][tring][de][siei][tiau][iue:n] Which means: “Where can I find a good Chinese youth coordinator?”

In the news: China is never out of the news nowadays. The 2008 Olympics take place in Beijing. The western world has probably learned more about China the last year than it had ever before. But it is still hard for Chinese people to learn about the rest of the world. SoccerProject for example is virtually non-existant in the ‘Chinese google’ Baidu and when I refer 爷就是个神话 to our Newsletter blog, he is unable to reach it. No single chinese server has wordpress on it ….

However, an effort of making SoccerProject more popular has been made. You can find it on several Games websites, for example.

Maybe we can try to make our vote?!

Outside SoccerProject Romanians play soccer as well. This week Victor Piturca announced that he renewed his contract and will stay coach of the national team for two years longer. Romania shares a group with France, Holland and Italy for the next European Championship.

° Community: splb-lt-mazas.jpg

° SoccerProject survival tip for Lithuania: “Man reikia kompiuterio, dabar!” (Or “I need a computer, now!”)

° Topmanagers: There have somewhat always been alot of Lithuanians in the game. Some managers have made it to the A-division, at the moment FC Marlboro is playing in the highest league. Other very famous and well known managers are opateam (OPA F.C.), makanakis (Zalgirio Alus), sigis (FC SY), Vaciux (F.C. Atlantas), … And we can still go on for a while! Just to say that they are represented by many, and they’ve got a marvellous community!

° In the news: There isn’t much important news about Lithuania in the world press. But there are a couple of interesting facts about and achievements in Lithuania and also on SoccerProject: A small overview:

- As many Lithuanians live in foreign countries, for the first time the fear rises that there won’t be enough flights back home, so the Lithuanians can enjoy the Christmas holidays in their beloved Lithuania.
- opateam recently made a marvellous film starring … SoccerProject! Watch and enjoy:

- The community site of the Lithuanians recently welcomed their 200.000nd visitor, not bad, not at all.
- Some other know one’s stuff: 80% of the Lithuanians are catholic; 47% of the Lithuanians are men, 53% of them are women (bachelormen, there are possibilities!); not football, but basketball is a hot item in Lithuania, where the men team achieved three European titles so far; Lithuania became independent in 1990, March 11th to be precise.

SoccerProject country: Iran

Officical name: ایران

Capital: Teheran

Location: Its neighbours are Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan , Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman and the Caspian Sea

Area: 1.648.195 km²

Highest mountain: Damavand (5607 m)

Number of inhabitants: 65.397.521

Number of SoccerProject managers: 10

Translation: The official language in Iran is Persian, but no SoccerProject translation has been made yet.

Community: Since there community is very small, they don’t have a website, but saman13 has been trying to unite all the Iranians on the forum is this topic: Iranian managers’ room.

SoccerProject survival tip: When you happen to get lost in an Iranian salt dessert, there’s only one thing that will help you: ask for “سريع كمك! من سريع به يك كامپيوتر نياز دارم” (Pronounce: man ayek kampyoter nyazdaram) It means: “Help, I need a computer urgently!”

jose-morinho-and-sina-banakar.jpg

Top managers: The Iranian manager that has been active on SoccerProject the longest is mahan7. He started on April, 27th 2007. But it’s manager Jose Morinho (aka saman13) that is highest on the manager ranking. He has a stunning 258 points and starts season 20 in G division. He started playing SoccerProject because a Romanian friend told him about it. His nephew sina banakar has a team as well.

In the news: Iran is in the news all the time. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s favourite pastime seems to be bullying Americans who are not really fond of his nuclear energy programme. I wonder what life in Iran is really like. Jose Morinho: “Iranian law is very strict, for example we only have limited access to the internet. If they don’t want us to see something, they just block the urls. Boys who turn 18 have to go to the army first, else they can’t marry, can’t have their own business. You can’t have contact with girls: the police will ask you questions if they see you with a girl. On top of that, life is very expensive here: the income Iran has from oil doesn’t go to the people.”

SoccerProject country: Bulgaria

° Community: www.soccerprojectbg.com

° SoccerProject survival tip when travelling to Bulgaria: Къде да намеря компютър за да се логна в SoccerProject? (Where do I find a computer to login on SoccerProject?)

° Topmanagers: Three Bulgarian managers play in the C-divisions; manager TepMuT (CkoTeBo) in C.2, manager Joreto (Black Sea) in C.5, and manager Ozito (Chemistry) in C.4. Most of the Bulgarian managers are to be found in the G-division and H-division, but that might change rapidly. For example: keep manager Zlisaveta (The Incredible Flying Circus) in the eye (mentored by Badbuffalo)!

° In the news: Bulgaria has already appeared in the international news this year. On January 1st Bulgaria became an official member of the European Union. And a couple of moths ago the Bulgarian nurses who had been held in prison in Libya for 8 long years, have been released by the help of the US, the EU and the Prime Minister of France, Nicloas Sarkosy.Other important news, according to my sources, was the 30th birthday of manager zlisaveta, and this when she, in her own words, still looks like an 18 year-old!

SoccerProject country: Greece

Greek flag

Official name: Ελληνική Δημοκρατία

  • Location: neighbouring countries are Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Albania
  • Area: 131.957 km²
  • Highest mountain: Mount Olympus, 2917 metres Number of inhabitants: 10.706.290
  • Number of SoccerProject managers: 194
  • Translation: Since April, 1st 2006 by dare_for_me, 149 managers play SoccerProject in the Greek version
  • Community: Greek SoccerProject Association
  • SoccerProject survival tip when travelling to Greece: Πού μπορώ να βρω την κοντινότερη καφετέρια με ιντερνετ??
pronounce like: Pu boro na vro tin kontinoteri cafeteria me internet?? (Where is the nearest cyber café?)
  • Top managers: The manager that’s on top of the Greek ranking is Duinenpiepertje, but he turns out to be a rather unsympathetic Belgian who goes to Greece for his holidays every year. Next on the list is Bryan Brigden: “I’m sort of Greek material. I’ve lived in Greece half my life, 10 years, but my parents are English and Italian. Although, believe me, I’m more of a foreigner in those countries than in Greece. Greece forever!”
  • In the news: We saw some haunting images of Greece in the news: large forest fires were ravaging the country. The newsletter is worried about the safety of the Greek managers and we send a message to kstelios: “Yes I am safe. I live in Crete, Heraklion (biggest island in Greece). We don’t have a single fire yet. But…the rest of the Greece is burning. Burning is a small word to describe the facts. Hell!!! Most of Greece’s forests are dust ..pure dust. The situation is very bad. 65 dead people till now, Thousands of people homeless, most of Greece’s forests burned…Terrible, tragic. I don’t know who is behind all this, that’s not my problem now… Pain, I feel pain and I am very angry. Hope it will stop soon.”
